I know, there are a lot of dragonsites out there. So why don't have another one? What is it about dragons that fasinates people?
Their looks, abilities or history? There isn't one culture on earth that doesn't have dragons in one form or another. Just grab an encyclopedia, look for the word "dragon and you get a variaty of discriptions. Varying from the stereotype evil dragon portraited in the west up to the wise and honored eastern dragon. The discussion if they do or didn't exist goes on and on. But all and all the dragon is vanishing, fading. Why? People stopped believing or whatever. I will try with my page at least to save one. Get people thinking again.
There are some great books with dragons out there, like the dragonrider trilogy from Anne McCaffrey. Or studies about asia and how dragons fit in their lives much more naturely than in the west. We could learn a lot from these guys! There are also great games with dragons. D&D, the sega saturn serie of panzerdragoon 1, 2 and the saga. If you ever saw that, you would almost wait to see a dragon come out of your tv screen. Dragons are not at all what people think in respect of their agression. A dragon is a calm, educated, quick witted creature, which hides most of the time. Laying comfortable in his den, processing the information he picked up from his last flight. Trying not to get in any humans path. Only in rare occassions he will bind to a human, and that bond is for life. But if the human friend would embarrass him, or misuse his trust, he would refuse to have anything to do with him further. He will only attack if being attacked. (He, if somebody would try to chop off my tail with a sword or whatever, they would have another thing coming!)
I left some links for you to look in too. One of them is not a dragonsite but the site of my Kung Fu school, because dragons have a habit of showing up whenever martial arts are involved. And please, if you do download a dragon from the downloadable dragonsite, be polite and follow her instructions.
And for the dragons among you who visit this site, here's my dragoncode. (You can decode it with one of the links below) DC2.~Dw/H GfL-L6f4mw2mtT120KPhawtlSkk,tswlCbr+BegAr-Av--Fr---M---H++Fc/oR?AcIS---UJV+[eg]Q--Tc++ Email: sjefkesteam@wanadoo.nl
